Update for Country Focus 2nd August 2009

Keeping the Cothi valley alive and thriving.

The people of the Cothi Valley in Carmarthenshire - where family life is often very different from the farming of past generations.

Country Focus - Sunday 2nd August at 07.30am and repeated Tuesday evening at 9.30pm... presented by Gilbert John.

Incomes in the valley now depend on activities as varied as making sculptures out of living trees, Welsh dolls so detailed that they attract orders from all over the world and reflexology - the foot massage which can improve health. There's also the blacksmith who supplies Prince Charles and natural cosmetic producers who turn plants into expensive lotions. Gilbert John looks at the activities helping to keep the valley economy thriving and community alive.
