Update for Country Focus 5th July 2009

Foraging for wild food.

Foraging for food has become really popular - it's cheap, healthy and good fun. Not just blackberry picking this is looking for all manner of wild food in our countryside

Country Focus - Sunday 5th July at 07.30am and repeated Tuesday evening at 9.30pm...
presented by Mel Doel.
In an aim to embrace the recession by promoting free foraged food and local
ingredients Pembrokeshire has been enjoying the delights of the launch of Britain's first Really Wild Dining Club. On the menu? why not try Dandelion, Pennywort, Watercress and Primrose salad with Wood Pigeon and Rosehip dressing? The club has been set up by the organisers of the Really Wild Food & Countryside Festival which claims to be the wildest festival in Britain celebrating the food and activities of the Welsh countryside. Mel Doel goes out foraging for her food on the edges of the Nevern and enjoys a wild feast at the Llys Meddyg in Newport.
