Dairy woes, badly planted trees and a new racecourse.
It's been a tumultuous time for our milk producers since the Dairy Farmers of Britain went into receivership earlier this month. Why the Government should act to resolve neighbour disputes over badly planted trees. Britain's first new race course in 80 years is already a winner and opens to a sell out.
Country Focus - Sunday 14th June at 07.30am and repeated Tuesday evening at 9.30pm...presented by Mel Doel.
Good news came last week when it was announced that Milk Link had secured a deal to buy the Llandyrnog creamery in Denbighshire as a going concern, saving more than a hundred jobs. But it was not to be at the co-operative's plant in Bridgend - a buyer could not be found with the loss of two hundred and seventy nine jobs. We speak to a Dairy Farmer in Pyle.
It can create the neighbourly problem from hell. Badly planted trees that overhang your property or that have been planted so close to your home that the roots are damaging your pathways or even your house foundations. The Labour MP for Bridgend Madeleine Moon claims people who cause troubles are walking away scot free and wants the issue discussed in the House of Commons.
We meet the Pembrokeshire artist who has captured the majestic trees of Dinefwr Park in wool by creating a series of tapestries for the National Trust property. Finnish-born Riitta Sinkkonen-Davies designed and wove the tapestries by hand in her studio at Freystrop.
This week sees the opening of Britain's newest racecourse. Ffos Las Racecourse - in the heart of Carmarthenshire lies between Llanelli and Carmarthen and it will stage its first horse racing fixture this Thursday evening. We speak to the General Manager as he's busy with the final preparations.
And finally - it's not easy for people who are blind or visually impaired to get out and appreciate wildlife and the countryside but it's not impossible. Despite the difficulties one group of people is making the most of Snowdonia's night life. Our community reporter Huw Jenkins joins a guided bat walk for the blind.
