Update for Country Focus 18th January 2009

Bovine TB; the Cloisters and the busy village shop.

Pembrokeshire farmers makes a plea to get together to tackle Bovine TB ; the Cloisters at St David's cathedral are being restored and the village shop and post office being saved by the community.

Country Focus - Sunday 18th January at 07.30am presented by Mel Doel.

The debate about Bovine TB reopens as the Pembrokeshire farmer who has seen his herd devasted in recent weeks calls for all concerned to get together to discuss the issue. Laurence Harris, the farmer behind the Daioni milk drinks has lost most of his dairy and beef herd and sees little point in restocking until the source of the disease is discovered.

The Cloisters at St David's Cathedral have been undergoing a makeover - our reporter Debbie James takes a look at what's been achieved to restore their beauty.

And so often we hear sad stories about the loss of village shops and Post Offices but Mel Doel visits Llanmadoc in the Gower peninsula to meet the local community who have got together to form a co-operative shop. Everyone's enthusiastic and chipping in to lend a hand to keep their services alive as a thriving rural business.
