FENS, FARRIERS AND BALLOONS.

Country Focus - Sunday 15th June at 7.30am, presented by Sian Pari Huws

We take a look at the proposals for a Barrage on the Severn Estuary and the impact on the environment. The mystery bug killing off the cockles in the Bury Inlet and three rivers Estuary. How British Farriers are campaigning against new laws which allow their continental counterparts to practise here, which they say could have negative consequences for horse welfare.

You might not realise it but we have Fens in Wales on Anglesey and the Llyn peninsula - now the Countryside Council for Wales have applied for £3.8 million grant from Europe for what would be the largest wetland restoration site in Wales

And we look at the call for a ban on mass balloon releases by the Marine Conservation Society which says they are causing problems for our wildlife.
