Follow a Fleece

Wool prices, worldwide, are at an all time low, but despite the difficulties, some enterprising small producers are making the most of their fleeces.

And why not? After all wool is described as an environmentally friendly commodity and Knitting is no longer the preserve of old ladies but a trendy hobby - the new yoga! So starting at grass roots we follow a fleece through production from the farm; through "Wool count" - the Mill in Brecon; to a showcase wool emporium and finally for the finished product we meet the women who like to "stitch and bitch"!

All were helped out by Glasu and you see many of the producer and their finished products at "Wonderwool Wales" event at the Royal Welsh Smallholders show.
