Green Gartside formed Scritti Politti in the early 1980s and enjoyed chart success. He enjoyed a renaissance in the 2000s.
Green Gartside named himself after the verdant landscapes of his native south Wales, casting aside his given name and creating a moniker synonymous with the post-punk and new wave scene of the 1980s.
