Jayce Lewis is the former drummer of Losing Sun who's building a career in East Asia.
Inspired by the dark, electronic sounds of 1980s giants like Depeche Mode, the post-rave dance of The Prodigy, and the tribal drum sounds of metal bands like Sepultura, Kenfig Hill's Jayce Lewis is a solo artist who's blasted into the music industry of East Asia over summer 2009.
Now signed to EMI India for a five album deal, Lewis' musical education was as drummer of Cardiff's stoner metal band Losing Sun. He left in February 2009 and just a few months later, his debut single Icon has been picked up for heavy rotation by MTV and VH-1 in the East Asia markets.
Icon is based around a squelchy electronic rhythm, with layers of tight, heavily produced guitars and melodic rock vocals. It is to be featured on Asia's Smash Hits 2009 compilation, featuring alongside the likes of Coldplay, Katie Perry and Lily Allen.
