I Am Hope are a south Wales rock band influenced by a mix of indie and punk bands.
Cardiff's I Am Hope draw on some of the biggest names in alternative music, from Mogwai, Biffy Clyro and the early work of Kings Of Leon, to the post-hardcore leanings of Glassjaw, Alexisonfire and Thursday.
Formed in the later years of the first decade of the new millennium, I Am Hope quickly got a reputation for their epically-minded rock music. They were picked up by London indie label Hope Music and in June 2009 their self-titled début EP was released.
It was recorded with Jeff and Ginge, ex- of Dub War, and was released to largely good reviews. Lyrically, I Am Hope dip into emotions, relationships and friendships.
"Our lyrical content covers a diverse range of topics and issues such as the late, great Jeff Buckley's passing (The Poet is Dead), causing heartbreak to the people closest to them (The Ones We Love) and the breaking down of relationships and friendships (Amnesia and Out of the Woods)," they say.
