Equally cursed and blessed, few bands from Wales have fallen from grace quite so spectacularly as Catatonia, and few bands leave behind a legacy so full of success and failure.

They formed, as the legend goes, in the early 90s, when guitarist Mark Roberts saw Cerys Matthews busking on Cardiff's Queen Street. They became bandmates, then lovers, and Catatonia was born.
