The NHS in Wales faces constant health care pressures and there is strong internal competition for funding between the various health providers.
The NHS Wales spendometer gives you the opportunity to decide what your spending priorities would be for the NHS in Wales. You can get background information on each of the main areas of spend by selecting 'more info'. Choose to spend or save by moving the sliders up or down. You'll then get some examples of how your choices would affect healthcare provision in Wales.

The spendometer has five budget areas for you to select and is based on the following budget:

Once you have made your choice, the spendometer will work out the possible impact of your decisions and provide the following information.
(1) The impact of your choices on spend.
(2) The impact of your choices on certain services in each of the five budget areas.
Remember, the spendometer only provides approximate budget and outcomes but it is based on the best information available to us.
