Sue Jones-Davies attended the University of Bristol, where she met her former husband Chris Langham.

She starred as Angharad Morgan in the 1976 BBC adaptation of Richard Llewellyn's novel How Green Was My Valley. Several television appearances followed including the role of Rox in 1977 production Rock Follies of '77 before she landed the part of Judith in Life Of Brian.

She played the prime minister's daughter Megan Lloyd George in the 1981 production The Life And Times Of David Lloyd George, and in the same year also briefly appeared in Brideshead Revisited.

Jones-Davies took on different bit-parts throughout the 1980s, including starring with Nicholas Lyndhurst and Andrew Sachs in comedy sketch show It'll All Be Over In Half An Hour in 1983 and featuring in episodes of Victoria Wood: As Seen On TV and French And Saunders.

In 1990 she appeared in the BAFTA Cymru award-winning Morphine And Dolly Mixtures, adapted from the novel by Carol Ann Courtney.

Small television parts followed before she starred in The Island On Bird Street and Cameleon (both 1997), the latter also starring Daniel Evans.

Jones-Davies appeared alongside Kenneth Branagh and Helena Bonham Carter in 1998 film The Theory of Flight, in BAFTA Cymru award-winner Solomon and Gaenor (1999) and voiced the part of Sian in animated film Y Mabinogi in 2003 with Welsh stars Ioan Gruffudd and Matthew Rhys.

In 2008 Jones-Davies, a Plaid Cymru councillor, became mayor of Aberystwyth.
