A latecomer to the world of acting, Julian Lewis Jones has featured in a number of hit British television dramas and stars in Clint Eastwood's latest Hollywood offering, Invictus. (Photo © Craig Sugden)
Born in Bangor in August 1968, north Walian Julian Lewis Jones studied at the Royal College of Music and Drama in Cardiff.
He starred in crime drama A Mind To Kill and Soldier, Soldier in 1995 and in 1999 featured in Welsh language film Solomon and Gaenor, alongside stars Ioan Gruffudd and Nia Roberts.
Over a three year period (2002-2005) he starred as character Tom Beresford in ITV drama Where the Heart Is and has featured in medical dramas Holby City, Doctors and Casualty, ITV dramas The Bill and Jekyll and hit BBC Wales productions Belonging and Torchwood.
Jones stars in actor-turned-director Clint Eastwood's Hollywood film Invictus. It is based on the true story of how Nelson Mandela (played by Morgan Freeman) joined forces with South African rugby captain Francois Pienaar (Matt Damon) to unite the racially divided country ahead of the 1995 Rugby World Cup.
He plays the part of Etienne Feyder, a one-time member of Special Branch who forms Mandela's personal security team. The film is released in the UK on 5 February 2010.
