Diego on...
Newcastle women and their resilience to cold weather.
Of course, I'm really happy they do it. I don't complain, but those things aren't skirts - they're belts! It's amazing! You feel stupid wearing your jacket and jumper when you see these girls. It's beautiful.
Football training for Goal! vs dance lessons for Dirty Dancing 2.
One is painful and this (football) is joyful. Learning how to dance is horrible. Getting up at eight o' clock in the morning to dance is not a good plan, but to play soccer is an amazing plan. I didn't enjoy the process of learning to dance, though now I know how, I can go out to dance and look good.
Women
I like girls that can laugh a lot, someone who has fun in their life and are independent. I hate those relations, I call them satellite relations - when someone is following you around the world. I like someone who has their own life, who has their own things going on. You can share a life with someone like that.
Music
I have a huge range of taste. I like Coldplay. The first time I came to Newcastle I was doing a tour of the stadium and when I came out of the tunnel they were playing 'In my place' - it sounded great and I came out thinking, "I'm from here - I like this place"
Movies
I like the Coen brothers movies... I like Michael Winterbottom movies too , I saw three of them before I met him - He is an amazing director.
Newcastle
It's a good place if you are looking for love, soccer, friends... People are really friendly and generous.

Diego with Romola Garai in Dirty Dancing 2
Could that be YOU? Diego with Romola Garai in a scene from Dirty Dancing 2: Havana Nights.

... and what you didn't know!
Diego's father is an acclaimed set designer in Mexico.
He has been best friends with his Y tú mama también co-star since childhood.
Diego is a big Coldplay fan.
Football is one of Diego's first loves - he played for an amateur team in Mexico in his spare time.
Diego is single and says all he needs is a girlfriend and life would be perfect! His ideal women would be free-spirited and have a sense of humour, so ladies get practising on that sparkling conversation technique!
