The win brightened a wet day

RaW match report

By Gordon Hannah
Clarky and Wilko winner Gordon Hannah gives his verdict on Newcastle United's 2-1 win over The Reds...

Newcastle United 2-1 Liverpool, Saturday 10 February 2007

A great game of football to brighten up a cold, wet miserable day.

The Toon started off with a silly mistake by Harper to allow the treacherous Bellamy in to score.

However, Harper more than made up for it by producing a succession of great saves to keep us in the game.

Tremendous strength and pace by Martins and a bit of well deserved luck saw him get the equaliser.

A clear-cut penalty gave Solano the opportunity to show how good he is, which he was all game, keeper sent the wrong way, says it all, class.

Second game in a row for the Toon to come from behind and win. Tremendous battling display from all concerned, long may it continue.

Fantastic!

Many thanks to Clarky And Wilko.
