Attendance: More staying power than Atlantean heavy-duty mascara, producing hits well into the early nineties. Duran Duran's last album 'Pop Trash' graced the collective pop conscience in 2000 - proving that like a well tied-dyed shirt, they might fade, but they'll never run. B+
Bonding: The definitive Duran Duran lineup came after original members Stephen (Tin Tin) Duffy and Simon Colley departed. Although they are still very much alive, they have taken several breaks. Most notable was Andy and Roger's formation of Power Station with Robert Palmer in 1985, which the remaining Durans countered by forming Arcadia. B-
Behaviour: You didn't expect five young men dressed like cosmetics trolley-dash winners to be well behaved did you? The band's biggest crime was their string of controversial videos. In the Frankie era, it was inconceivable not to make a ban-able vid, and Duran Duran sent Mary Whitehouse's synapses racing with their 'Girls On Film' vid. C
Physical Education: Like their chances of winning any Charles Atlas contests, these boys were slim. So the Duran boys sought to woo the women with their formidable skincare and make-up techniques. What woman could possibly resist a man attending the Salvador Dali school of eye-liner application? There wasn't a lady in the popsphere who could resist five men who could dance in heels without breaking a sweat. A+
