The BBC will collect and process the personal information that you have provided to us about yourself. The extent of the information we will collect includes name, email address, occupation and any information regarding the organisation you represent. We do not require anything further at this stage.

The personal information that you provide will be processed securely for the purposes of ascertaining how we may work together as part of the Tiny Happy People project.

The BBC is the ‘data controller’ of this information. This means that the BBC decides what your personal information is used for, and the ways in which it is processed.

The legal basis on which the BBC processes your personal information is on the basis of the BBC’s legitimate interests in editorial decision-making, potential partnership opportunities and collaborative working with professionals and organisations across a range of disciplines. We will also use your personal information to stay in touch about work relating to the Tiny Happy People project. We have completed a Legitimate Interests Assessment in which we balanced our interests in processing your data against any impact on your individual rights and freedoms, and found that such impact does not override our interests.

In order to determine the period for which we will retain your information, we consider the following factors: the lifespan of the project and legal retention requirements.

Keeping You Up to Date

We offer a regular newsletter to let you know about the campaign and other BBC programmes and services. From time to time we may also contact you to ask your views on issues affecting the BBC. We may personalise the message content based upon any information you have provided to us and your use of BBC platforms. By emailing us, we take it that you are expressing your consent for us to contact you from time to time with information regarding the project – you can remove this consent at any time by emailing us to unsubscribe to any further updates.
