Walking in pregnancy

Walking during pregnancy has plenty of benefits for your body and your mind.

It's a low-impact form of exercise, so while it's great for boosting your fitness it won't put any stress or strain on your body. Invite your partner or family and friends along; making your walks into a sociable activity means you'll probably end up walking further. Best of all, it's completely free.

Just remember to wear comfortable clothing and shoes, and not to push yourself.

Never over-stretch or strain your muscles and always talk to your midwife before exercising.
