There is nothing more compelling than an expert with passion. Kate Williams pitched this to me over a coffee, and I had to make this film. It tells the forgotten story of how that most regal of monarchs Victoria came to the throne via a tangled web of intrigue and infighting, and one of the most vicious mother-daughter conflicts in our history.
