Wycombe's unbeaten run continues with anither impressive home performance against the bookies favourites for promotion from League Two this season. | | Ian Stringer reports. |
Manager John Gorman said it felt like having a new player when striker Nathan Tyson was retained by the club, despite a £300,000 bid from Cardiff this week. It was he who could have put the Chairboys 1-0 up in the first ten minutes. His near post volley flashed wide but deserved more. The visitors not only held Wyombe's attacks at bay but found themselves 1-0 up when Talia was stumped by David Hunt's 25-yarder on the half hour. He punched the ball into his own net. But the pressure didn't relent from the home side and when cobblers' defender Bojic was sent off for a foul on Torres, John Gorman's men looked fovourites. Mike Williamson's back post header meant it's now played seven lost none, but with visiting teams regularly playing one up front, they need to improve their finishing. |
