Sprucie the Eurpoean Eagle Owl

Have you seen an owl like this?

Terror on the tracks

A giant owl is terrorising commuters at Middlesbrough Train Station....

The owl has been spotted in Middlesbrough for a few months, and has now set up home at the train station, and is swooping on clubbers and commuters who pass by.

Craig Smith, of Southfield Road, Middlesbrough, was running through the station car park to catch a train when the bird approached him from behind.

He said: "I heard this woo-woo noise dead loud and I looked over my shoulder and saw this big thing with silver wings swooping on me with its claws stretched out.

"I ran as fast as I could onto platform one and it flew off.

Local owl experts have that although they can eat pigeons and cats and dogs, humans shouldn't be too worried.

The owl is currently living here

BBC Tees' Emma Borthwick spoke to people about the owl...to hear her findings click the link at the top right of this page.

It was reguarly roosting in our office car park in Zetland Square. It has now been captured and returned to it's rightful owners (it was an escapee), so if you want that sarnie that it owes you I suggest contacting it's owners. :)

This owl has a real nasty streak! I was wandering along eating my footlong Subway sandwich en route to the Banana Leaf for my main course when out of knowhere this owl swoops down and takes the steak direct from my sandwich - I was gobsmacked! Who'd have thought that steak would attract it. If you're reading this owly, YOU OWE ME A SANDWICH!
