Have a BLAST in your local area!By Blast Reporter Robert Law The Blast Truck is a mobile creative studio offering digital media and creative experiences to young people. The blast truck was at Newcastle this weekend in Exhibition Park, with an array of activity from DJ/MC master classes to making your own TV news bulletin. The BBC Blast truck has a number of ways to showcase your talents, whether it be dancing, costume design, or song writing there is something to keep you busy, you can even learn how to do Graffiti. So if the kids are running out of things to do during the summer holidays bring them down to the Blast truck which is sure to keep them busy for the day. After travelling to Newcastle to visit the truck, the first thing that stuck me was the size of the studio's. I have to admit I expected it to be rather small, how wrong I was! With recording studio's, an office area with a number of computers and even a place to practice dance! However, the event was effected by the great British weather, therefore a few of the activities where called off. The next stop for the Blast truck is the Newcastle Mela (Asian arts and music festival). It runs from Sunday through to Monday offering a number of activities for people to have ago at, you can even record your very own song / rap! Have a look at the gallery located at the top right hand side on this page.last updated: 27/06/07 Have Your SayIf you visted the Blast Truck, what were your thoughts ? |
