Last year's Tees Blast reporter Claire

Meet the BBC Tees Blast reporter!

Launching this year's BBC Tees young reporter scheme is 18-year-old Claire Bloomfield, find out about her plans for the summer here!

As your BBC Tees Blast reporter I would like to introduce myself and welcome you all on board my journey as a young reporter with your local BBC team.

From over the hills and far away in Guisborough, this 18-year-old student is just about to have the summer of a lifetime and you're all here to witness it.

I have recently completed a BTEC National Diploma in IT and am due to begin a degree in Journalism in September. I shall be studying at the University of Kingston in London where I am looking forward to embarking on yet another new challenge.

My interest in journalism began at a very early age and has progressed from primary school magazines, student and company newsletters and now to the BBC as a reporter on this years Blast scheme.

Besides my interest in the media, I am a keen supporter of Middlesbrough Football Club. Attending their fixtures at home to the Riverside stadium week in week out, I am looking forward to enjoying yet another exciting season and second successive European adventure.

I am looking to providing you with the very best in the entertainment, the arts, and music scenes across Teesside.

When I'm not cheering on my boys in red and white, or slaving away in my part time job, I enjoy listening to a whole variety of music ranging from RnB to Hip-Hop and dance.

However, following a BBC Blast introduction weekend held in Bristol in July, it's now become common knowledge that I have a slight admiration for Irish heart-throb Ronan Keating!

From seeing the man himself in concert around the country, purchasing his music on the day of release, and celebrating New Year's Eve in Dublin, need I say more?

So see yourself as the next rap sensation? Created a blockbuster movie? Or ready to share your abstract art with the nation, I'm looking for your input too.

I'm keen to involve you all to help provide a mixed and colourful site, promoting the skills and talents of the youngsters within Teesside.

Whether that maybe in the form of graffiti, music or even DJ'ing use the contact details below and get in touch!
