The BBC Orchestras and Singers are hosting some in-person primary CPD sessions around England.
These free, friendly, interactive CPD sessions will give primary teachers practical ideas to bring music into all parts of the school day. It doesn’t matter how musical you think you are – you will leave the day with new ideas and confidence to help pupils to get creative with classical music.
These sessions will include:
- easy and memorable warm-ups to get children moving and using their voices
- easy-to-implement methods to facilitate improvisation
- tips on how to use the music featured in Ten Pieces as the basis for class or individual composition
- ideas on how to get the most out of the Ten Pieces resources and use them to get creative, not just with composition but other art forms and curriculum areas too
All sessions will be led by Sam Glazer, together with musicians from different BBC ensembles.
Thursday 26 January 2026, 13:00 - 16:00 - Nottingham, with musicians from the BBC Concert Orchestra
