CHILDREN: Clapping! / I can hear somebody clapping.
PRESENTER: It’s me - I’m clapping my hands together. Listen again. You join in with me when I say ‘go’. Ready? Go.
FX: CLAPPING
PRESENTER: We’re going to do that again. This time put your hands up by your head to clap. Ready? Go.
FX: CLAPPING
PRESENTER: Listen. What can you hear?
FX: LOTS OF PEOPLE CLAPPING
CHILDREN: More clapping. More people!
PRESENTER: A lot of people clapping. But they’re not near, they’re far away. Listen again. Say if the clapping is near or far away. Ready?
FX: NEAR CLAPPING
CHILDREN: Near. / That clapping is near!
PRESENTER: Listen again…
FX: CLAPPING FURTHER AWAY
CHILDREN: Far away. / The clapping is far away.
PRESENTER: Listen one more time…

CHILDREN: Near. / That time the clapping is near.
PRESENTER: Some sounds are near…and some sounds are far away. Listen. What can you hear?

PRESENTER: It’s a bird in a tree. Is it near or far away? Listen again!
FX: BIRD NEAR
CHILDREN: Near. / The bird is near.
PRESENTER: The bird is near. Listen. What can you hear this time?
FX: BIRD FURTHER AWAY
CHILDREN: A bird. / I can hear a bird that’s far away.
PRESENTER: Another bird, and this one is far away. Put your hand up in the air each time you hear a different bird that is nearby. Listen carefully.

PRESENTER: This time put your hand up each time you hear a different bird that is far away. Listen carefully.

PRESENTER: This time some birds will be near and some birds will be far away. Put your hand in the air each time you hear a bird that is near. Remember, only the birds that are near. Listen carefully.

PRESENTER: And make sure your hands are down again. Listen to the sounds of these animals. Can you say what animalsthey are?
