My one and only pleasure is television, and I wouldn't be without mine, not at all. I turn it on at Children's Hour and it's not off again until it's finished at night. My husband and I cannot go to the pictures because we have no one to look after the baby we trust, and it's our one and only joy. We bought it and we paid for it, and we're thinking of buying another one later on, and get bigger and better, and all I can say about television sets is that I hope that they improve and that we get colour television.
My husband is in the trade and he says that they're making improvements with colour television. In fact I've got square eyes, and I'm the biggest fan out, as regards television…and I shall not stop my child watching it. In fact I have become far more educated myself since I've had television. I'm rather an ignoramus, so I'm teaching myself a great deal. I watch a lot of their sensible programmes…and I can't see what all the fuss is about!
