Lil Nas X:

NARRATOR:
[SINGING] Bring the noise.
Lil Nas X:
Lil Nas X, also known as Montero Lamar Hill.
Lil Nas X:
Singing Usher's "Confessions" album in my living room, maybe.
Lil Nas X:
It makes me feel amazing because it's, like, kids are really the, the ones who decide which songs are, you know, the next songs to be the next songs, that everybody is going to be listening to.
Lil Nas X:
During that time, it's like I'm not in school anymore. I just, I messed that up for myself. This music is not really doing too well, and I found the beat of "Old Town Road" by listening to the beginning. The beginning samples of the song. It was, like, a loner cowboy sad story to me. So, you know, that's what I went with.
Lil Nas X:
I used to play the trumpet, and I also used to be, you know, like in, like the drum line in school. So, I was, like, you know, percussion. I mean, I guess cause it was difficult at first, and then, like, once I got the hang of it, I, I was becoming like, you know, the best in the class pretty much, you know.
Lil Nas X:
Make it in some way relate to your life. And, you know, you know if your song is catchy or not.
Lil Nas X:
Like, a year ago from today, I was online promoting music whilst sleeping on my sister's floor. And, now I'm in London. You know, the honest truth is I started, like, you know, when I started making music in May last year was just like something I was doing for Twitter. And then, it became something I realised I wanted to, like, keep doing, like forever. So, I just kept going withit, then "Old Town Road" came about.
NARRATOR:
[SINGING] Bring the noise.
