“The Shoooop Shoooop Girls” and the Marvelous Cat Journey by Georgia B.
As soon as their parents said goodnight and the bedroom door shut, Emily and Chloe shared mischievous glance. They stayed still waiting silently until their parents footsteps disappeared. Then it was time, Chloe leaped over to Emilys bed, they touched their index finger together and whispered "Shooooooooooop"
In the blink of an eye, the girls shrank down to the size of an ant. They glanced at each other and giggled; their voices so small only each other could hear. You see, this was their secret - they could turn tiny and go on adventures, exploring the world like no one else could.
Tonight however, they had a special mission. The girls had always wondered what their cat, Bear, got up to at night. They decided that because they were so tiny, they could ride Bear like a horse, going on an adventure with him out into the night.
With Bear snoozing near the back door, they sneaked over to him. "Ready" said Chloe. Emily nodded excitedly. They leaped onto his back, held on tight as Bear shuffled and stretched. He let out a huge yawn and then suddenly leaped up and out the cat flap.
The girls were off, into the night like fearless explorers.
Outside the world had transformed around them, seeing some of the biggest things they had ever seen. The grass beneath Bears paws was like a forest, the wind so strong, they had to hold on tight, their hair blowing in the cold, sharp breeze like a hurricane had rushed by.
The stars shining above them almost seemed like giant lanterns lighting up the sky. Each one blinding like the sun
Everything seems much different when your only a few centimeters tall.
The sisters smiled at each other. They were amazed by the world that surrounded them.
Bugs, which were once so small became large magical creatures, birds like airplanes in the sky, their wings huge and strong carrying them through the night.
They laughed as Bear chased the once tiny bugs and leaped in the sky.
The girls realized that when you are small, you notice things you normally wouldn't notice.
As the night grew colder and darker, the girls became tired and weary. "I think its time to go back" Emily said with a great yawn. Chloe nodded and yawned back. They slid off Bears back and quietly slipped back into the house through the cat flap and up to their bedroom.
They sat in the middle of their room, touched their fingers together and gentle whispered "Shooooooop". In a flash, they were back to their normal size. They climbed into bed and snuggled under their blankets. Tired but happy the girls shared a grin. Their secret adventures were always great but there was always something special about returning to their own beds.
As they drifted off to sleep, they felt a new sense of appreciation for the outside world, both the big and the small.
