Jacket Potato Boy - Rise of the Sour Pickle by Noah P.

It's that question again…

"What do you want on your Jacket Potato Jimmy?"

That's me, my name is Jimmy and I can not get enough of those steamy, fluffy Jacket Potatoes!

"Muuuuum" I called"I can't decide, I want ALL the toppings in the world!"

"Don't be silly Jimmy, you have to make 1 choice" Mum called back

"Beans. No, tuna! Wait no, just cheese"

"You'll get a surpise" sighed Mum

And just then as I think I have made my mind up, that's when I see it…

Mum walks in, holding my plate.I can see a lovely, hot, buttery jacket potato and my mouth starts to water!But what's that on top…I look at the plate and directly back at Mum,Is this some kind of awful prank?!This green, slimy, slug thing, laying right on MY JACKET POTATO.

I look at Mum in horror and before I could open my mouth, she said it…The word I never wanted to hear…

PICKLES!!

No kid should ever have to eat those!

I sat there for what seemed like a lifetime, thinking to myself "There must be something I can do to put an end to this for all children!"

And as quick as I thought it another idea came to my head.

You see, I'm not just your ordinary 7 year old boy, I'm an inventor! Yes, you heard right, a 7 year old inventor and I'm going to stop kids everywhere from having to eat anything yucky again!

I grabbed the Pickle from my plate and hid it in my sock, scoffed down the potato and ran to my room.

Several hours later…

That's it! It must be!I'm going to transform every disgusting food our parents give us, in to the yummiest, scrummiest sweet treat you could imagine with this little device!

I grabbed the Pickle and the device and thought of how rich and famous I will be when people see my amazing invention.

Pushing down the button…

3, 2, 1…

BOOM!!

The smoke filled my bedroom but as it cleared, you would never believe what I saw next…

Standing 8ft tall and towering over me was the biggest Pickle I have ever seen in my life.

It's skin looking like some type of lizard and the smell! Oh the smell was disgusting!

The thoughts whizzed through my head…"Mum…Giant Pickle…secret invention…ARGHH"

There was no way I could hide this thing and mum would be coming up any moment!

So I only had one choice… start eating!

What felt like hours later and a belly that felt like it was going to explode with sour Pickle, I lay on my bed and wondered if I should have just ate that small Pickle in the first place and give up on my ideas.

Never!!

I'm going back to working on my inventions because I'll get it right one day!

Maybe after I stop burping pickles though…

BURRRRRRP!
