The Grate Story of Jimmy Cheese by Ivy M.

Jimmy awoke with a start, but he didn't recognise the room. Instead everything seemed a bit brighter, it had stopped raining, the sun was shining through the window.He caught a glimpse of his reflection, it wasn't the tall scrawny figure he was used to seeing, he gasped…oh my! I'm a Swiss Cheese!"It's going to Brie ok!" Jimmy chuckled to himself. Two shakers entered, a Salt and Pepper. "There you are Jimmy!" the two of them seasoned together. "They're all waiting for you to go on stage! Hope you've bought your cheesiest jokes with you!"They pointed towards a stage, overlooking an excited crowd; a variety of colourful spectators, as an assortment of foods all awaiting the next performance.Jimmy looked around nervously thinking of what he was going to say. Breathe Jimmy, things will get feta!"Aha! I'll just use my cheesy jokes." He took a deep breath and walked onto the stage."Good Cheese-ning everyone, it's grate to see so many of you today!"The eggs started cracking up…"Did you hear? A tornado destroyed a cheese factory, all that was left was de-brie!""But don't worry… we're leaving it to the potato's to saute it out!"The onions were rolling around crying…"Luckily the rodents will survive, there's plenty of mouse-orella left!"The jellies were wobbling with laughter!"What cheese should always be used to hide a horse?Mascarpone!"Jimmy looked into the crowd, everyone was laughing. Everyone but a single sprout… she sat with an appalled look across her leafy face, stood up and shouted the worst word a comedian could ever hear "BOOOOO". The room fell silent and all the food turned to look at the sour sprout. "Your jokes are so bad, they could curdle milk!" she spat.The crowd gasped! Jimmy didn't know what to say or do. He turned away from the crowd, flushed with embarrassment. The shaker twins stood up and confronted the spiteful sprout…"if you don't like Jimmy's jokes, you can just leave! There's no need to be mean!""Gobbledygook straight from your pie hole! I was just stating his incompetence to tell a decent joke!" She sprouted back.King Ketchup stood up tall. He scowled at the sprout and ordered his eggs and soldiers to roll her out.The crowd became conjubilant, cheering Jimmy's name.Jimmy stood, a proud cheese indeed. But the cheers began to fade away.Jimmy awoke with a start, but he didn't recognise the room. He was back in his office, a joke book in one hand and a cheese sandwich in the other- "I don't think I'll eat that now." He thought.Two people entered the room, one Sam and the other Pippa. They said together: "Ah, there you are, Jimmy! They're waiting for you!" and they pointed towards the meeting, which he was meant to be leading. He took a deep breath and smiled… "Good Cheese-ning everyone, it's grate to see so many of you here today!"
