Kindness Makes the World a Brighter Place by Yasmin B.

Izzy was a rainbow fairy. She wore a beautifully bright coloured dress with earrings that matched. But the most beautiful thing about Izzy was her wings. They were sparkly and rainbow coloured and the best wings a fairy had ever had.

Izzy lived in Fairy Land which was colourful and bright - even the toadstool houses were shimmering in the light of the sun.

One particularly sunny day, Izzy was not being very kind. She spent all day showing off her beautiful wings and tried to make everyone around her jealous. This put them all in a bad mood and Fairy Land started to turn grey and gloomy.

Being mean and unkind took all the colour out of Fairy Land. It was normally bright and full of all the colours of the rainbow, but today it was grey and dark. No one could understand what was happening.

The next day, Izzy's phone started to ring.

"Hello" said Izzy."Hello" said a deep voice, "I am the Fairy Land King and I am summoning you to my palace.""Oh goodness!" cried Izzy, "why do I have to go to the palace your majesty?""Because I need to tell you what have you done", said the King

Izzy quickly made sure that she looked her best and flew all the way to the palace. When she got there the King told her that it was her fault Fairy Land had turned grey and gloomy. It was because she was being so unkind and showing off.

Izzy couldn't believe what she had done and felt so sad. She asked the King what she had to do to turn Fairy land back to its gleaming self. The King told her that the next morning she would have to be kind, nice and caring.

Izzy went to bed that night thinking about her behaviour and emotions. She realised that the King was right, she had been mean and unkind and nasty, but she was going to do her best to change that in the morning.

When she woke up, she went to her friend's house and asked her if she needed any help with her chores. She also told the neighbour how beautiful her dress was and helped an old fairy to cross the road. Throughout the whole day she was being kind and helpful.

Later on she went to see the King and told him about all the kind things she had been doing. The King told her to look out of the window. Izzy saw that Fairy Land was gleaming and its pretty colours were back again. Izzy couldn't stop smiling and realised that she had learnt a lesson… that kindness makes the world a brighter place.
