Who are the illustrators for 500 Words 2025/26?

Each year in 500 Words, there are lots of prizes up for grabs - including the winners seeing their work immortalised by a top children's illustrator.

The gold, silver and bronze winners will take home a framed illustrated cover of their story created exclusively by **Leigh Hodgkinson, Paula Bowles, Harriet Muncaster, Korky Paul, Rochelle Falconer and Ken Wilson-Max.

The illustrations will also included in a special 500 Words winner's book for each bronze, silver and gold winner, in both categories.

He is the famous illustrator of the Winnie and Wilbur children’s book series by Valerie Thomas published by Oxford University Press, which has sold over 10 million copies globally. Korky has worked with several leading publishers, and his books have been translated into 44 languages. He is a patron of Pegasus Theatre, ARCh, Reading Quest, Northern Children’s Book festival, and The Stratford Literary Festival. He is also a judge for National and International art and illustration competitions.
