The Day the Junk Food Gang Arrived by Devan C.

Once upon a time, on a calm and peaceful day the people of Vegeville were going about their normal daily activities, this included exercising, meditating and eating some of the finest fruits and vegetables.

You see, Vegeville was also home to some very proud fruits and vegetables. They provided delicious and tasty, fresh food which kept the people of Vegeville healthy and strong. Taking care of the humans was a serious business and they did their job with complete dedication. So, when Magnificent Mango was just hanging out in his Mango tree watching the world go by, his eye caught something in the distance, something odd, something that didn't quite belong… Lurking in the shadows, under a tree are four figures looking suspicious. Magnificent Mango got his binoculars and nearly jumped out of his peel when he saw that it was the junk food gang!Magnificent Mango yells over to his neighbour Awesome Apple and tells her what he has just seen. She then tells Outstanding Orange who then shouts over to Cool Cucumber until the message finally lands with Brave Broccoli! "We must take action" says Clever Carrot as she joins the commotion. "We must come up with a plan" says Brave Broccoli. Sure enough, all the fruits and vegetables gather to devise a plan…

The next night the junk food gang arrived in Vegeville, "no one even knows we're here" whispers Crazy Crips, "this takeover is going to be so easy" laughed Bad Biscuits, "come on, this way" said Callous Cake and off they went further and further into Vegeville on a mission to try and find new homes in the kitchen cupboards of all the residents in Vegeville.They tried a few doors but all were locked, they attempted to get through some windows but those were sealed off too… they reached the end of the road and made a last attempt, this time the door opened "we're in luck!" said Cheeky Chocolate, they made their way to the kitchen but something landed on Crazy Crisps which made him get his packet in a twist, it was Brave Broccoli! At that point the lights flickered on and before the junk food gang knew what had hit them Magnificent Mango rolls like a bowling ball across the floor and takes out Callous Cake, then Cool Cucumber flies through the air with razor sharp precision straight into Bad Biscuits! Awesome Apple and Outstanding Orange fly at the Junk Food gang from every direction. The vegetables and fruits chased the junk food gang back out of the front door, up the road and all the way out of Vegeville. The vegetables and fruits all rejoiced! Their plan had worked!

The next morning the people of Vegeville were unaware of the nights events and went on with their morning as usual, making smoothies and enjoying some of the finest fruit and vegetables you could ever imagine and they weren't ever bothered by the junk food gang again.
