cinYou are in: Suffolk > Community > cin > Carol Concert 2007 ![]() Carol Concert 2007It may seem too early to talk about Christmas, but if you love singing carols, enjoy good music and laughter too, join BBC Radio Suffolk for the Children in Need Carol Concert for 2007. This year we will be back at Snape Malting Concert Hall and the important date is Saturday 1 December at 7.30pm. "This is the fifth year we have held a big carol concert, and our third time at Snape," said Rachel Sloane, concert producer and compere. "The world famous concert hall is a brilliant place to be a performer or an audience member. The feeling of excitement strikes you as soon as you walk in." Led by Philip Shaw, the County Music Adviser, the music will be provided by the Suffolk Youth Orchestra, The St Edmundsbury Male Voice Choir, Beccles Choral Society, St Matthews CEVAP school from Ipswich and, for the first time, a Suffolk young professional soloist, Hannah Mayhew. As always there will be plenty of opportunities for everyone to raise the roof singing traditional Christmas carols. Some of your favourite presenters will be doing the seasonal readings – both thoughtful and amusing. As always the whole evening will be recorded by our engineer, David Butcher, and musical highlights will be broadcast on BBC Radio Suffolk on Christmas Day. "With an orchestra, a joint choir of nearly 200 voices plus a full audience singing their hearts out, it really will be the start of the Christmas season," Rachel continued. "And yes, Pudsey Bear will also attend to say a personal thank you for helping him to raise hundreds of pounds for Suffolk’s Children in Need." Tickets are available from the Aldeburgh Music Box Office, telephone: 01728 687110, and cost £10 for adults or £8 for under 16s. last updated: 17/09/07 [an error occurred while processing this directive] |
