i had the pleasure of meeting kevin on a few occasions and he even came down to eastbourne and present winners medals to our under 16 football team.easily a top man and the best defender in his era.

Kevin Beattie was undoubtably the best Town player ever. He was of course a product of his time and since those times are over we will never see his like again . Sad , but true .In that era players ( and fans ) were not distracted by material things as they are today .Pride in the club counted for much and pride in playing for the club seeped from his pores .

I WATCHED IPSWICH WITH MY DAD DURING THE MID TO LATE 70'S AND KEVIN BEATTIE WAS BY FAR THE BEST FOOTBALLER I HAVE EVER SEEN AND IVE NOT SEEN A BETTER ONE YET. I WOULD LOVE TO WATCH HIM PLAY AGAINST DROGBA OR RONALDO, AS HE WOULD HAVE THEM IN HIS POCKET.

Kevin was the best defender Ipswich Town have ever had along with Allan Hunter there was not much that got past them, its a shame that inujury finished such a promoising star, at least I have had the pleasure of watching him on many occassions, its a pity we do not have some one as good as him in our current team, but you nevery know perhaps one day we will have another Kevin Beattie

The best - on a par with the late Duncan Edwards.A master of every aspect of the game - goal scorer, strong and fearless defender, great header of the ball, could beat players. I've heard that some of these superstars can only kick with one foot! And that's all they can do! I'll always remember Duncan Edwards and Kevin Beattie.
