FeaturesYou are in: Suffolk > People > Features > Suffolk Funeral Fair ![]() Suffolk Funeral FairSuffolk’s first Funeral Fair took place in Ipswich on Wednesday 29th March at the St Nicholas Centre in Cutler Street. The Fair was organised by BBC Radio Suffolk and CSV Media to coincide with the nationwide campaign - How to Have A Good Death. ![]() Exhibitors travelled across the UK to encourage people to talk about what is often a taboo subject. Demonstrations included green burials, cardboard coffins and eco-pods, firework tributes and how a loved ones ashes could be converted into diamonds. There was also advice on will writing, cookery demonstrations and a New Orleans style jazz band to entertain visitors. Exhibitions took the form of a series of 'How To' demonstrations covering everything from dealing with grief, understanding inheritance tax, and catering for a wake. Solicitors were also on hand to give advice. There was also be an opportunity for visitors to attend an audience with a clairvoyant medium.
BBC Radio Suffolk’s Nick Pandolfi was broadcasting live between 9 and 12 at the event. He said, “Many people have a natural unease when it comes to discussing death.
