Suffolk's beachesYou are in: Suffolk > Coast > Suffolk's beaches > Suffolk's beaches: Thorpeness ![]() Thorpeness boating lake Suffolk's beaches: ThorpenessThorpeness has much more to offer than just its glorious beach. You might not have thought it but there really is so much to do in this seemingly sleepy, small seaside town. When you are worn out from playing beach cricket or you have had enough of paddling in the north sea you can retire to one of Thorpeness's pubs or tea shops for refreshment. Then if you are feeling brave you can take to a rowing boat or canoe on the mere and explore a mystical world of little coves and islands based on the adventures of Peter Pan. There is no need to worry about children's safety on the boats, the mere is no more than 4ft deep and life jackets are available on request. If you still have energy left after that you can take a cliff top walk by the side of Thorpeness Golf club. You will find Thorpeness just to the north of Aldeburgh, signposted off the A12 near Saxmundham. last updated: 09/08/07 Have Your SayT ollat spanna beth R Candyce Kez Holly PHOEBE SEE ALSOYou are in: Suffolk > Coast > Suffolk's beaches > Suffolk's beaches: Thorpeness |
