The Robbie Williams Show - on DVD
Robbie
Show time!

Jase writes ...
Good or a load of old pants?
Well my girlfriend Mojo is a massive RW fan (I've never seen so much RW stuff in one house), so I cheated and asked her to review it for me.
See if you agree with her...

It's a Fix, Mojo..!’ I hear you cry, ‘How will we know if it’s REALLY any good?’
I normally listen to Chemical Brothers, Strapping Young Lad, Guns n Roses, Devin Townsend and Ozric Tentacles etc, so you could say that if I like it, anyone could… !

If you like to watch a show where you feel involved, the new Robbie DVD could be the one for you.
There are plenty of pauses for entertaining little stories and anecdotes, and comments focused on the audience [including those at home!] and those who go weak at the knees will appreciate it when Robbie looks directly down the camera, straight into your home and sings to YOU!

Seventeen big ones
RobbieThere are 17 tracks in the main show DVD - mostly showcasing the Escapology album, 5 classics from Swing When You’re Winning, and favourites like Rock DJ, Strong, No Regrets, Angels, plus another 4 to be found in the special features area.
(...At the time of recording this show at Pinewood Studios last autumn, Robbie’s now Mega-selling Escapology hadn’t been released - Jase)

The Robbie Williams show bursts into life with a song called ‘Trouble’ and you’re immediately be drawn into Robbie’s world as black and white footage merges into colour and a stunning eighty dancers silhouettes are revealed in the background.
The intro ends on the song Handsome Man, and the show begins.

Concert feel...
Robbie arrives on stage to the sound of the Rocky theme tune, and storms into ‘Rock DJ’. Probably the best performances are ‘Monsoon’ and ‘Hot Fudge’ where again, the dancers are on stage.
(... these are also my favourites from the Escapology album, and its worth a laugh to keep watching the two dancers who look like they’ve escaped from an 80’s keep fit video, Robbie looks extremely dapper in these two tracks as well - Jase)
So, added to a couple of superb songs, and a studio full of enthusiasm, it’s Robbie as you’d expect at a concert- almost guaranteed to get you dancing around the house [or tapping your feet along, at the very least!]

For something a bit calmer, try ‘Feel’ or ‘No Regrets’. For those not sure why the latter track was written, here’s your chance to find out.
New material like ‘One Fine Day’ was only written the week before The Robbie Williams show was recorded.
A sing-along version of ‘Strong’ features a bouncing red ball highlighting the words to the chorus. (... kind of Sing-a-Strong, eh? Geddit?? Oh, suit yourselves… -Jase)

Showmanship
Throughout, Robbie comes across as a real showman, despite previously claiming he hates performing. He certainly looks like he’s having a great time too. (....he’s infectious! I would never have considered myself a Fan, although nor would I say I-Hate-RW, but I was definitely entertained when watching this DVD – Jase)

So now you’ve watched the show, Play the game! It’s a relatively easy follow the lights game, but if you get through 3 rounds of this you’re given access to the bonus footage. Additionally there's a Photo gallery with choice stills from the show and backstage bits and bobs too.
Try to find the 2 pictures which get swapped when you enlarge them!

...so... we think...
If you’re already a fan of RW, you will buy this DVD, it’s a must-have; and if not, it might just be the thing to convert you! (see, what did I say up there?!! – Jase)
