naughty forty I myself recollect the days frequently mentioned by mark in this book being from stoke myself and knowing a lot of the guys mentioned in this book. I think that it is a remarkable account of the days back then and mark has written an extra ordinary account of the passion involved and also the shenanigans that the n40 got up to. hats off jasper. lee hayes london

N40 The Naughty Forty are amazing. My mate's uncle was killed and was a member of the Naughty Forty, Lee C. That was our inspiration to follow Stoke City FC and the Naughty Forty culture. Carl Chaddock and Josh Carter Biddulph

Arfur Tow Crate in Staffycher Books Both Arfur Tow Crate books, which sold thousands of copies, are now out of print. The last I heard of any remnants were in Hanley museum who got them when Andy Ridler, one of the co-authors, died. Alan Povey - co-author. Stone, Staffs

berry - books Do you know where I can obtain recordings made by Arthur Berry including 'Lost pubs of Burslem' etc Many Thanks Sue

fact... John Landy said that after The Bible and The Works of Shakespeare, The Compleat Angler is the most published book in English. According to my fairly recent reprint it's actually The Bible, The Book of Common Prayer, and The Compleat Angler, not Shakespeare. Are The Works of Shakespere actually a single book? Paul Bristow Basingstoke

121 Days of Urban Sodom I love this book by the local author Jacqueline Phillips. Its a story of a woman abused, made me cry more than any book has for a long time. Carol Tunstall

Carol A Duffy I can really recommend Carol Ann Duffy's poetry. It's so accessible and it really makes you think. Sarah Stafford

Carol Ann Duffy Carol Ann Duffy's one of the best living poets we have. Full stop. Ann Newcastle

Book review I've just finished a great book - Wold by Paul Judges. The story is set in fairly remote northern hills, and is full of humour, individuality, passion and peculiar human life ! Don't miss this gem. Neil Rakespeare Stoke

Book search I wonder if you or any of your listeners could help? I am looking for a book I think it is called Vincent Riley the Potteries drunk. Mr K Hancock

worms! I read that book and i think it's a bit too unrealistic. It tries to be all sci-fi but i think it's borin and long-winded. that's just my opinion tho! Leanne Cannock Chase

Wormwood book Having not read any other books by this author, I had no idea what to expect from Wormwood. What I got was a dark, thrilling story that I couldn't put down. It's a cross between Harry Potter, Buffy the Vampire slayer and the X-Files. James Biddulph

g.p taylor Not as good as Shadowmancer. It's slower and the characters aren't as believable. A bit disappointing. Christopher Leek

Morecambe book This book is just a great big whinge - by a son who thinks his famous father makes him someone important as well. We all have to deal with our parents and their nuisance ways, grow up and get over it, and see our own faults too. The priveleged lifestyle of the son bemoaning his lot gets a bit too much to say the least. John Baker Uttoxeter

Captain Corelli's Mandolin I read Captain Corelli's Mandolin a few years ago and would really recommend it. It's an incredible love story but is so much more than that - you get a real sense of what it must have been like to live in occupied Greece in the 1940s. Fantastic. Katie Webb Hartshill

Captain Corelli's Mandolin What a beautifully-written book! The transition between the funny and moving passages is totally seamless. But, oh how you cry... (the film was rubbish though) Laura Preston Stafford

Eric Morecambe biog Very strange book I must say. It seemed to be more about the problems that Gary Morecambe (Eric's son) has, than about the great man himself. In that sense, it was quite disappointing. Maurice Tyme Rodbaston
