Bullit Blew..
Bullit spent too much time trying to make a trendy bar with some uber-mid-twenties too much money to spend on dodgy fringes and bad suit t shirt combos.
The thing was the marketting deoartment obviously haven't researched the area, choosing a badly located bar and also not catering for the typically student market.
Few in stoke want to pay more for a round than say 3 hours wages. Nice idea, bad place..the marketting department really onloy have themselves to blame.

Dont moan?? Stoke might not be the most cosmapolitan city on the planet but us clubbers r no fools.
I for one work hard for my money and when i go out at the weekend i want the genuine article. not moaning about a clubnight that doesnt sound or look very good is one thing and yes people should give new nights a chance in stoke as we need more choices, but if it is true that it's not the real golden on and its just a couple of chancers trying to cash in on the good name then its only fair that people should know about it. isnt that the idea of this messageboard?

well whats to say about gregs, well its pretty much all we got but if ur bored and drunk in the area its a good laugh.
a night out in crewe is crap compared to nanti and with the number of pubs if u can still walk in a straight line by the time u get to gregs theres something wrong.
most times ive been there its a bit of a grab a granny time (no disprespect to the nans but ur a bit beyond me).
if you want a proper night out then i do recommend manchester (come on 5th ave!) you gotta have the gregs experience, its a bit like having a wimpy meal, its just something u gotta do once in ur life.
oh and a point on the 'door mob'. you just gotta laugh when u get there. got told off for standing 'too close' to the DJ as well at one time, not as if i had a choice as there was nowhere else to stand.

Too true - whoever thought of having a golden re-union without the man himself, ill never know!!! Bromley was Golden. I do think whats quite encouraging is the number of people who want golden back - Bromley pull your finger out, stop being such a good father, and get back behind the decks (his new cd rocks by the way!!!) - your city needs you!!!

They had some 19 yr old on who'd borrowed some records to play i was told! Golden will always be remembered by those of us who went there, but for some idiots trying to cash in on the great name of golden, looks like fate has interveined thank god

Eye candi at Bullit - a review
Dance music has been making a revival in Staffordshire of late and there are many undiscovered and underground acts that are really making some noise in Hanley.
If you are bored of commercial music and rock isn't your thing I highly recommend Eye Candi, a monthly night that takes part in Bullit. With residents Unsung Hero's you are guaranteed an array of tunes from funky house to deeper sounds. With four decks the two dj's keep the music flowing mixing a flawless and eclectic set.
The atmosphere inside the club is one I haven't experienced for a long time, with friendly faces and a good atmosphere the party rocks to the early hours of the morning, and even then you will not want it to end.
Eye Candi is every third Saturday of the month and if you like your music with some life to it and want to explore something that is still underground then this is a night for you.

just a comment about the fact that the girl had a good nite at bullit. it was because ace of clubs was on there.
ace should be given a chance by all clubbers.ace jsut needs a regular venue,then we can start putting stoke clubbing back on the map..

In reply to the message left about Ace of Clubs giving up,
Are people really that small minded in Stoke...Obviously this is another promoter trying to down the good name that ACE has built up over the last 6 years.
Yes thats right 6 Years... and to be able to move a club from venue to venue is no mean feat.
Ace has always been about promoting local talent which it has done, and is still doing as well as promoting dance music in an ever decreasing dance scene. Ace has a wicked atmosphere and attractive women attend because of this,
Ace has never had a problem with fighting or people misbehaving unlike some new bars/clubs that have just opened in Hanley.
Long live the Ace name and I will be there to support you as with the rest of your loyal members.

Metropolis is indeed a puka club, I have spent many a happy night there prowling for nice boys to take back to my caravan, which is not piky in anyway, to defile in the most sordid ways imaginable.
In my opinion it could only be improved in there ways: 1) More young boys 2) To play more David Hasselhoff, he is a geniuse that is much under rated. Hot Shot City is particularly good. 3) A notice board that patrons can pin notices too. Things like for sales notices etc...
I have been looking for a dag for my ma' for a while and the good fellows at Matropolis will be bound to help. But apart from that it's a puka place

Oh my god, how can you people even say that gregs is remotely half decent!!!! its the biggest hole ever, and everyone especially the door staff seem to think its some sort of shrine!!! get over yourself for gods sake.
go to manchester or birmingham for a much better time. drinks can be cheaper and the music is so musch better, and for once actually meet someone different apart from the usual high-school reunion thats seems to happen every week in gregs.

Some good news folks, Amber D will be appearing for a hard dance night@ sahara fkn Brannigans called British Pounding Music. With the club scene in Stoke on Trent, doing not very good.
Hopefully what i am trying to do will put a smile back on everybody's faces. Also i am not ripping people of by charging a fiver or £4 NUS, now you can't beat that for value...watch this space, i have a host of names coming to Stoke this year
