Postcard from the past... The Killer Mile?
| | | Postcard from the past - can you help identify it? |
| | Fancy doing something incredibly simple, but being very useful at the same time?
Well, all you have to do is look at the picture on the left and see if you recognise anyone or anything. Simple! |

| | 'Postcard from the Past' is a new feature for Barbara Adams' afternoon show on BBC Radio Stoke. Postcard puzzles The best selection to surface to date has come from Arthur Peach at Mow Cop village, on the Staffs/Cheshire border. And his collection has produced a whole host of history mysteries for your perusal.
According to Arthur, the postcards originally belonged to a Mr Worrall, a school teacher who was well known in the area about 70 years ago, and, again according to Arthur, he was a highly intelligent and multifaceted character.
Killer Mile - truth or fiction? Our postcard (top of the page) shows what Arthur thinks is a scene from Mow Cop. The villagers, it's said, ran up the hill once a year in what was described as a "killer mile" event. These motorcyclists may be on that route.
But... is that likely? is the "killer mile" truth or fiction? is this scene in Mow Cop at all?
Postcard post If you think you can help, even with the very slightest piece of information... or you have some similar pictures that you too want identified, e-mail Barbara with the details. And, thanks!
