The awards were held at the Kings Hall in Stoke and hosted by BBC Radio Stoke's Jason Hardy, with special guests, Lisa-Scott Lee (formerly of Steps) & new boy band PHIXX.
This was the 3rd Annual Youth Up Front Awards with a gala evening, not unlike the Oscars, celebrating the achievements of the younger members of the communities of Stoke-on-Trent.
Organised by the Youth Services division of Stoke on Trent City Council, the Youth Up Front Awards ceremony attracts sponsorship from any corporate and community groups throughout the area. FULL AWARDS LIST Youth Participation Award for Individuals went to Kramer and was presented with the award by the sponsor Pete Twilley from Youth Services.Contribution to Improvement of the environment went to The Princes Trust Team 110 and they were handed their award by John Cotgreave from Groundwork Campaign of the year award went Galaxy Youth and on behalf of Mercer Jones Insurance were handed their award by Hartley Slann of B-Bak productions Young Business Person of the Year were Absolute Designers and presenting the ward from Staffordshire University is Judith Robinson Individual Contribution to Local Community was Gemma and was presented with the award by Polly Granger from Connextions Stafford Youth Participation Group Award winners were Teen Time and there award was handed to them from Richard Ogden of Stoke-on-Trent College and Millennium Volunteers Contribution to Community Harmony Award went to Nichola who was presented with her ward by Dianne Dunlevey of Racial Equality Council Contribution to Improvement to School Award went to the School Council, and presenting the ward to them was Dan Campbell from Voluntary Action Children's & Young Peoples Council Contribution to Community Harmony Group Award went to Gener-8, and presenting the award was Dianne Dunlevey from the Racial Equality Council Special Contribution for Improvement to College Award was won by Eyizala who was handed the award by Judith Robinson The Young Movers East Thames Housing Group Development Award was won by The Old Blurton Forgotten Youth and presenting the award was Anne Revelle Young Entertainer of the year Award was won by Daniel Hewitt & handing over the last award of the evening from B-Bak Production Hartley Slann & Sarah Whitmarsh Finishing the awards off was the Major of Stoke-on-Trent, who has been helping & fighting for the rights of young people for a long long time. The night finished off with Phixx and the Young Entertainer of the Year Daniel Hewitt playing to the end of the night. |
