Thousand job losses at pottery firm
Pottery firm Waterford Wedgwood has announced that more 1,000 jobs are to go with the closure of two of its factories in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire.

Stoke-on-Trent Mayor Mike Wolfe told us that the news was a big blow for the city. He added he would now be putting pressure on the government 'at the highest level' to relocate a governmental ministry to the area as a way of bringing jobs to the city.
