| | Do you care for a friend or a relative? If you care for someone who is ill, or for someone with special needs or disabilities
if that person would not be able to cope on their own without you
then you are a carer...and the BBC's Ring Around carers is for you! Ring Around Carers is a 'meeting place on the phone' for carers. It's a chance for anyone who looks after a friend or family member to have a regular, friendly chat with other carers - it's confidential and it's free. Ring Around Carers means that you can meet a group of like-minded people without leaving your home. Many carers find it difficult to get out to see people or sometimes just miss that chat over a cup of coffee. All you need to join Ring Around Carers is a phone. The weekly chat lasts less than an hour, but it's time for you - the carer - to talk about the things that interest you. Right now if you're interested in finding out more all you have to do is call the BBC Radio Stoke Action Desk on 01782 260972 and they'll talk you through the application. Don't wait to make that call - do it now!

Ring around Carers This is an excellent idea, but the most important issue affecting the lives of Carers, is that the one being cared for is protected from intrusion, and this must be adherred to at all times. ALYS AUDREY GREGORY GILLOW HEATH, STOKE-ON-TRENT
