The Electronic Image 2 is about to happen soon, please make a note in your diaries that Wednesday the 12th of February 2003 will be the next date.

The Electronic Image is a space for showing Short films, Animations, Pop Videos, Art Pieces, Flash Animations and other forms of moving image.

Eighty people braved a dark wet Wednesday to attend the first event that showcased 16 films last November 2002.

The event showcased an ensemble including a 'poetic' montage film from Dan Hopkins, featuring a meditation on English landscapes and vistas. On the 'shock' side the show opened with a witty pop video by Will Kemp, featuring a provocatively dressed schoolgirl in a sordid kitchen.

Dan Hopkins
The events are being run by Dan Hopkins of the Stoke-based creative collective no.ground.processes.

quote I'm just trying to build up a community of filmmakers and artists in the area. quote
Dan Hopkins

Dan also works as a media production technician at Staffordshire University.

Electronic Image
'Electronic Image' originates from a local film-making group which teamed up with the Stoke Film Theatre to promote a regular showcase for short films.

Based at the Stoke Film Theatre in Stoke-on-Trent, The Electronic Image will be a regular screening of moving image based work.

The second event is at the Stoke Film Theatre on College Road in Stoke on Trent on Wednesday 12th February. It starts at 7.45 pm and entry is completely free!

Dan and the no.ground.processes collective are now seeking tapes for future screenings. For more information, contact them at: [email protected]

The group is also planning a large night in the local Talbot venue in March, to showcase new electronic music. Further details should be printed in the next Film Theatre programme.
