A phoney incident

Forgetting a shopping list leads to a staggering phone call for Elizabeth.

Hello, I'm Elizabeth Shepherd from Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffs. I've been retired for ages - well I was born in 1931 - which makes me 72 years old. I live alone with my very dear old dog, who is blind. In my spare time I enjoy creative writing and entertaining my friends.

My story happened years ago when my first husband was alive and we lived in West Yorkshire. At the time it really struck me as weird and highly unlikely. However, coincidences are like that - aren't they?
