Here's what Dan, Charlie, Joe, Josh and Nathan had to say about working on the School Day website. JoeToday has been a great day for me! I have been working non stop since quarter past eight. This morning I got up really early, at half six, got dressed and ate my breakfast. I was so nervous incase I messed up but I didn't. When I got here I started taking pictures of Janine’s show and was getting Janine, Will, Hannah and Paul's photos done. Later I had my picture taken loads. The man from The Sentinel came to take our picture (I have never had my picture taken so much!). I made two web pages. Jonathan, Becky and Kirstin were on the online team they were great for help and organisation. I would definitely consider this for a job. CharlieToday I got up earlier than usual. I had to be at Radio Stoke by 7.45. I felt like I had only just woken up by the time I left the house. I spent most of the morning designing the School Day logo. I have also done some other things today with Josh and Joe, who were also in the online team. We have put items from earlier stories onto the website and also have built a large collection of photos for the website; these include the story pictures and the picture for the photo gallery. The photo gallery shows the staff and the students involved. I have also been Sub-Editing and Proof Reading. We all feel like we have done a lot, although we still need to make a few more web pages. Becky, John and Kirstin, the staff, have helped us throughout the day. We've been interviewed countless times and had our pictures taken even more times! We have been interviewed live and we've been recorded. When I was being interviewed live I felt really nervous, because I thought I was going to go wrong. Although I actually did go slightly wrong I still feel that I did well. But I probably won't make it to be a presenter… so it’s a good job that that isn't my lifetime ambition! I have thoroughly enjoyed today and would love to come back. I have enjoyed making the website and learning how to use Adobe Photoshop. We had a large selection of things to do, which I think is great. It means you don't just have to do the same thing for 6 hours! That could get extremely boring. Another thing that is brilliant about today is that we can see what we have achieved and I can say on behalf of all of us that we feel proud of what we have accomplished today. JoshWhen I got here I felt nervous and didn't know what to do. Then John said “why don’t we make the School Day logo?” We made it and it was fun. Then we started to take photos of people to put into a gallery. Now I feel right at home, and I'd love to do the job! DanToday I turned up at 1pm and felt quite nervous. When I got here I started to make web pages and found it very interesting. I have learnt to do it well and enjoy it. I have put lots of pictures into the ‘BBC Radio Stoke School Day’ gallery which was very interesting. I have learnt how to take photos properly and how to make them more focused. The most enjoyable things about today has been seeing my work on the BBC Radio Stoke website. It has been very interesting and enjoyable. NathanMy day started off at 12.30. I was meant to come at 1.00 but I came early and immediately I was found a job. I wrote reports for the website, and after an hour I began to resize and alter pictures for the website After I had made teasers and mains for the reports I started to make the WebPages and incorporate the text and the pictures I had altered earlier. At 4.00 I had finished all of the WebPages that I had been asked to do and I started to crop pictures so that they could but put on the gallery that dan was making. |
