To see all the pictures from the fashion shoot go to the gallery link at the side. These days we are surrounded by fashion… (I say that like I’ve been around for years… I haven’t). Everywhere we go there are shops showing us what we should be wearing, who should be wearing what and frankly we spend ridiculous amounts of money on the smallest clothes. So who has got it right? Who are the… so to speak… “cool cats”, which are the best shops and which celebrities do we think are really stylish? We all admire the great people of the world such as Lance Armstrong but we aren’t going to all walk around the shops in tight yellow lycra. Now there are lots of different styles about. There is your ridiculously overpriced fashion. There is your “lounging around the house” fashion. Your going out on the town for a drink fashion and more importantly the ever changing… Street Fashion. The most important of all the fashions as it is ever changing and the one that most intrigues myself. People go to chain shops in their local town buying clothes for when they next go shopping to buy more clothes… is that confusing? Celebrity style...Instead lets think in terms of fashionable celebrities such as Sienna Miller and Robbie Williams who can play it cool with street fashion no matter what they are wearing. People are becoming a lot more adventurous such as Kemal from this years Big Brother. In fact the really stylish people these days dress up in their fancy gear just to go shopping or across to the supermarket. Back in Mark from the office’s day (early 1800’s… although he is that old nobody knows how old he is exactly) boys would go out into the town centre in their ‘scruffy’ clothes and hang about together not caring really what they wore. Not nowadays! On the cheap...You can now pick up a whole outfit in some shops for under £20 in shops such as TK Maxx and Primark. We… meaning me (a self styled cool cat… the coolest cat in the whole darn town) and Mark (erm… yeah… who has a nice erm… beard) went out and found some different people on the streets of Hanley to ask them the burning questions we wanted to know about street fashion. You can see the results in the Gallery (see link in top right hand box on this page) and please send us your own examples of yourself or your friends if you think they are especially fashion mad… or fashion victims. |
