I used to love Alfa 9 live but the new songs don't seem as good now. Good luck though and I'll be buying the album in support and giving it a chance on my ears whatever. Big Cash Prizes seem to be getting better they could still do with more variety in their set. The Rebounds are not bad, not the best band in Stoke but they are ok. I don't see anyone mention The Cakes yet, I think they could be the ones to watch.

If you go along to any independent record shop they will probably order it in for you. This is the start of something big. They are doing loads of gis and tons of work in the background, watch our for them on Amp, MTV etc.

At such an early stage in your gig career as a band should you really be doing exclusive gigs? i would have thought you would want to drum up as much support as possible, not just from your immediate circle of friends. Also it is a very pretencious thing to do, do the graft play the venues do it like it should be done to earn a bit of respect. Please no comments to this i am so not arsed about wot u think.

How apt that an anagram of "heist" is "s***e", they are without doubt the worst band I have seen on the live circuit in Stoke...EVER!! Painfully inept at writing, ear bleedingly bad at playing and about as full of passion on stage as an "x factor wannabee" doing a bad oasis rip off.
I can just see the Stoke scene getting a bit of a buzz about it and some bigwig coming to check it out. Imagine the look of horror on his face if by sheer bad luck THAT is what they were unfortunate enough to stumble across??? I know one thing, Mr major label would not be coming this way again for a long, long, long time.

I like the idea about the local bands night at a specific venue!
As you say, great way to promote local bands from in and around stoke and for fans to keep track of the local scene. fixed night, fixed venue and fixed cost would be good - so people know where to go, when to go and how much its gonna cost. Similar to Club NME but just for the local bands to get the scene going even more!! There are a few decent venues where this could take place namely the underground and the sugarmill. I aint in the know but is there anybody willing to set that up?? someone who knows the scene or just someone prepared to have a go?? Askew and / or Tilley you with us or what lads??

i agree with the person that said stoke needs a proper local acts night, at a certain venue, maybe 2 per month or once a week where different local bands play, it'd be a good and easy way to keep track of established and new talent and would excel if it made a new for itself. sometimes its a ballache trying to keep ontop of where all the decent bands are playing, but if someone took this idea you wouldn't have to look much further than going to that night.

1.Agent Blue-best band in the country in my opinion not just live, but for their actual songs too, singers a bit of a tw*t though but the rest of em seem nice.
2.5as-Best young band other than Agent Blue in the country by far.
3.BCP-good band, listen to some stuff on their site and vids too, its alot better recorded, sounds amazing! but live the singers voice lets em down a bit he strains too much.
4.HTTAB-Great new sound from what ive heard of them they r gonna be really good but still need a little work.
5.Black Vegas-Emofantastica This City is amazing we have the best bands in the country we should be proud.

Wow, did anyone see that new band Transit play at the sugarmill last night? They were amazing!!! I didn't expect much from them as they were on first, but they came out and blew everyone away. There songs were fantastic and were way better than the bands they were supporting. I'm telling you, they are going to be huge, you must check them out!!!!

Hey there, I was just wondering when your going to request that more can be done up this way (staffordshire). I dont think any bands have ever come up this way, its always london, or places too far away. Its really annoying when you have to travel 3 hrs in your car to get a glimpse of your fave bands.
Is there /any/ chance you can get some action going around here? Like mcfly signings? Meet and greet or anything? Signings only seem to happen in the major cities, which is really unfair.

Brilliant!! A very memorabale night, thats the best I have ever seen them and I have seen them a few times. Well done to everyone at the Underground for bringing them to Stoke, its not everyday you can see a big name (like them or not) without having to drive 40 miles.

Today was the first day I realised how hated Marilyn Manson actually is. In my world, Manson is ... well un-hateable.
His intelligence, his attitude towards life and even his fashion sense (however goth it may be) is always to be admired. I heard my first Manson song at the tender age of six - 'Tourniquet' - and I knew from that moment on, whatever happened, this band would have an impact on my life.
It was not until his 1998 album, Mechanical Animals, that i actually SAW him. You all know that picture right? Him as a naked lady... Well, at that moment, I thought to myself "There's no point denying him. You may not like his image, but you already love his music." And I still don't like his image (I was brought up in a very catholic family) but his music never fails to inspire me, among many other things. So I ask, don't diss him because of the image he portrays, he is a very intelligent man, who, despite the caked on make-up and the eye-catching outfits,! is an extremely talented man. So I say long live Marilyn Manson - but even longer live Marilyn Mansons music. And I ask you, let it happen peacefully.

never said alfa 9 were crap, theyre one of my favorite stoke bands along with 5AS, AB and bcp. Just trying to make a comment on them and start a bit of a debate.
I never said bands are crap if they dont use technology either, thats obviously not true.
Sorry if my comments came across as being negative, it seems to have annoyed a few people. I was not being negative to the 'scene' or any of the bands mentioned. I think at the moment musical stoke is riding on the crest of a wave and when it breaks the rest of the UK are gonna be looking this way.
So best of luck to alfa 9 and all the other stoke bands who are trying so hard to make people take notice of us.

You've misunderstood me. My comments were in response to some idiot who wrongly assumed that the concept of sampling etc was new thing which IS NOT the case.
I wasn't saying that a tape machine was as easy/fast/efficient as a sampler, only that the same things could be done 40 years ago using a tape machine and a bit of ingenuity! For your information, I've been using a sampler/sequencer/drum machine/digital editing etc since 2000, so don't try and tell me to get with the times you silly little man!

Overated?????? who by? i think the word u were looking for was Underated.They are by far one of the better bands in England at the Moment and they are more real than most bands in England too.Yes i think they do get the credit they deserve in Stoke and i hear they are pretty big in London too, but on the whole they should be massive.They are my favourite band at the moment and have been since i heard them and i dont even know them as people and have never even spoke to em although i do come from Stoke but even if they were from another country, i can honestly say they would still be my favourite band. I'm staging a series of Showcases (about 1 a month) in Brum and the Black Country featuring local bands/musicians with original material.
Thanks to an article on this site (Black Country Entertainment/Music pages) i've had applicants from all over the UK & beyond. The 1st showcase took place on 19th August and was a great success featuring 5 excellent local bands. I'm still looking for more Midlands bands with 20+ minutes of original material & a mature, professional attitude. Any interested musicians should email me at [email protected].
The next Showcase is all-acoustic and will be held at the MAC, B'ham on Sat. 24th September and will feature Alan Neilson, Ian Todd, Ice, Stuart Zola and another act yet to be confirmed.

Tell me what tape machine can hold 4gig worth of samples, what tape machine can instantly pitch samples up and down to a precise cent in tuning, tell me which sampler would ask you to get the selotape out to edit you samples, tell me which tape machine you can sync to an lfo so can alter the output filter frequency and resonance in time with BPM of the tune your playin. Which tape machine can you attach to a 19" rack and transport easily with your lifes sample library on. NONE Do you still have a beta max video player at home and a black and white tv? or have you got a dvd player and a wide screen. do you still play your records on a grama phone or do you use CD? Sort your head out youth, old equipment is nice to own and use but practically its extint. OH, how did you manage to write your comment using that old typewriter?

we play gigs to a local crowd who are up for it, a lot of them have got to know us through seeing us play. If the people who like us know us that means it is a scene. If we ever play in stoke we will know a lot of the crowd. playing in front of people we don't know is called touring which we are capable of. support your scene you losers and then sure enough the scensters will flock to STOKE

Hello I'm from a sound production company and we're trying to find a sound studio up in the Stoke/Hanley/Newcastle-under lyme area that could do an ISDN link up to our studio in London.
As yet I've had no joy in finding one. it's to dubb some commercials so would need to done 'to picture' too.

I am in a band that doesn't use any tech-synths and we still create an up-to-date sound that feels right even in this day and age.
I do believe though that technology should be used in some music but not all of it, you've got to have it in some cases, it's the future......and we are the children of tommorrow

Mr Kasabian, you are full of sh*te! The synthesizer is hardly new is it? They've been used on mainstream (e.g.The Beatles) since the late 60's. Also as far as samplers go, all a sampler is is a very advanced sound recorder! There's NOTHING that a sampler does which cannot be done with a tape machine and a skilled operator. Bands such as The Who have been using tapes/samples/click tracks live since the early 70's so your argument doesn't hold any water laddo.
I'm not sure why I'm responding to someone who thinks great music has got anything to do with technology new or old, but I'm sure your heroes Kasabian would agree that first and foremost, GREAT SONGS are what make a band great, not whether they use what you naively perceive to be the latest gizmos.
Anyway, as far as Alfa 9 go, they use synths/samplers a fair bit anyway

whats took them so long is that a band from Stoke that go by the name of Agent Blue made ppl in the business actually start to see Stoke in a different light and started to take us seriously,
since then bands like Alfa 9 and BCP have been noticed and im sure other Stoke bands will get noticed too, so i think every1 should not give up Stoke ,it has still got the best bunch of bands in England fact.Stoke also is probably the hardest place to be recognised fact. We can change that, and the change has already started.I dont like Agent Blue,Alfa 9 and BCP but i do have respect for what they have done for my city and have given me hope that my dreams may 1 day actually come true so thanks guys.We should all stick together.

Dam near every message is the same, its either a message slamming a band, or its messages on about how ace Agent Blue, BCP, Alfa9 or 5th action shelter are! So ppl keep saying support the scene but they arent doing that, the stoke scene isnt just 4 bands, its a massive number of bands, and although the bands i just mentioned are doing the best in Stoke and helping the scene a lot, there are still other bands around that should be watched and supported! By using synths and samples you are not masking the original sound, but enhancing it. Why would anybody write a synth line just to hide lacklustre guitar playing? It does not make sense! Love it or hate it technology is here to stay, dont be s**t scared of it mate... embrace it!!

u speak s**t m8.Its easy to put on a sampler put some effect on a gutiar and make a tune, but try doing it without all that hi-tech s**t and go old school then u might have more respect for bands like alfa 9 and 5as and Agent Blue who all put on amazing live shows without having to use pro tools or a sampler or something that disguises the real sound.

I say tell your band to go and try and play their instruments without something changing the real sound that it already is.Then u may have more respect for what they do. Oh and please tell me how many Agent Blue gigs u have been to and felt safe lol.Anything could happen at 1 of their gigs.

i agree mate. i saw them on last week, i didn't know much of them only what i read on here, and i drunkenly remember them at the vic hall, i actually went to the gig to see big cash prizes (who were incredible), but fifth action shelter were absolutely brilliant, everybody in there looked fairly amazed.

Fair comment mate, a lot of the bands of now probably do wish that they are as good musically as some of their 60's heros.
Its really not important though as music is progressing so is technology and its technology that makes the music scence what it is today. If bands today were still playing massive gigs on 30watt amps and little pa systems no-one would go cause it would sound crap.
As far as using technology to hide poor playing thats a load of rubbish. You cant polish a turd mate. Perhaps the bands that do use technology are finding new ways of playing in order to incorporate technology rather than have the same old guitar, bass, drum sounds regurgitated.
Look at bands like BCP, their live show is absolutuely awesome and incorporates all aspects of technology to make for one quality show. In my opinion alfa 9 need to catch up in that respect but again, thats only MY opinion. There are a lot of people who are happy to go and watch a 'traditional' band! and go home safe in the knowledge that theyve heard some nice overdrivin guitars and a decent chord progression.
Perhaps when a producer gets his hands them hell add a few twists with some old valve amps or a rotating speaker cab or sumthing, or will he just stick it all in pro-tools and go wild? who knows?

They are back and well on form, their new tune "Value your Vitals" is a modern anthem. Absolutely brilliant - the only way for these boys is up. There are no other bands in Stoke or even England that are making a sound as haunting and ace as theirs.

to the hopeful stokie who goes on to say that alfa9 draw their influences from the 60's, for a start this new wave of 80's sounding bands has really only come about in the past couple of years so will it not die out again and another era breath air into the scene again! So why is it so hard for a band like alfa9 with a sixties sounding base to make it or compete?
i dont understand all the bands you love at this very precious moment in time i guarantee will all draw influences or wish they were as good as the musicians from that early period! They were the people who didnt need technology to hide the fact that they were geniuses or compatent players!

Trevor, you quite clearly seem to have some issues with myself. which is fair enough appreciate you been honest but at least have the balls too back your issues up with facts and have the balls to give your real name. In response to a few or your rants:
1) yes i would love to be in a band more than anything, i have attempted to learn to play many instruments and not had the skill required. so i decided if i cant be in a band i want too work with music and bands
2) the clothes i wear have nothing to do with wanting to be cool. they plain and simply reflect my personality and i am happy wearing them.
3) my grammar and reviews for move maybe not of a high standard, but they are written by a stokie for fellow stokies. they are my views which i am publishing, im not forcing them upon you i am simply expressing them for people to read.
4) matt bates, steve tilley and martin brunt are just a few of the people who devote their life to making Stoke the scene it has become, and for you too be so spineless and come on here slating them is weak and laughable.
5) and finally i do my job because i love it, i wake up everyday and am thankful that i get paid to do something i love.
If you have a problem with this or me then i would happily sit down and would love a debate on music and the stoke scene. if you hate it so much then why pay to turn up to my nights every week. I would also like to thank all the people who have said nice things about me and fought my corner on here. Stoke is on the edge of something very special musically, lets make sure fools like trev don't ruin this.

The only people bothered about 'the scene' in stoke are the people in stoke who claim to be on 'the scene'. The reason BCP and Alpha are doing well is they go to other 'scenes' outside stoke, where other people are actually listening to them. I think stoke has some awesome talent but much of it is wasted on entertaining the people on the 'scene,' who the next day slag them off on this message board.

The Rebounds? Come on! Can you honestly see them holding their owm amongst some of the bands that are around at the moment? Lets just face the fact that a lot of bands in stoke will never be anything more or less than someone to go and see at the Sugarmill or the underground or the Talbot. And the Rebounds most definately fall into this category. the sugarmill

Went to the gig last night, thought all the bands were really good. That first band were a bit jessy but they were good musicians non the less. Alfa 9 really put on a good show but I think we had a case of the deaf sound engineer. I have now developed accute tinnititus from Alfa 9's excessively loud guitar sound. Perhaps I'm getting old....quality though lads, liked the monster moon lights or whatever theyre called....I think 'groovy' is a fitting description of the night

Black apples were good, singers got a mint voice, I really like the tune where he sings the riff and plays it at the same time, dead catchy and ace - nice one boys...Alfa 9 were good too but none of the tunes really stood out for me, it was just a wall of swishy guitar sound with the vocals all drowned out... nice lights though.

Anyone seen Acoustic covers band Shennanigans lately ? New line up, mix of young an old - Joe + Tom from Emergency Call, Fazz from Kickin + Screaming and Richo + Spaz. Great bunch of lads , not up their own a##es, look like they really enjoy doing each and every gig.Do some really good oldies with a few suprises chucked in, harmonys are sweet. Keep it up boys and watch out for them around the local area most weeks.
PS... Jimmy Mansell - top fella, will be missed, good to see that Boogie Nights may well be continuing with Jims brother Johnny taking over on drums, good luck boys and girls, Jimmy will be keeping an eye on you.

Are one of the best local bands by far. I'm going to see them at the Mill (again) and can't wait!! I may end up being dragged into a mosh pit- but what the hell, the mill is one of the best music venues, and Razorwire are a brill band- keep moshing lads. In respose to what Bernie said; I agree Goths and Greebs are very nice people, and even though, I myself am not a goth or a greebo I feel that the ppl who attend the mill are so friendly and much nicer than the people u find in regular clubs.

what the hell is this all about? i saw them at the sugarmill not that long ago,they are so overhyped by the local media and press its unbelievable,they were really poor to be honest when i saw them.I say well done to the girls for having a go at it and if they enjoy doing it thats fair enough im not having a go at them im just trying to make this point and to make real bands believe that its still worth it.its not about the music anymore its about the product,and i really wish that it could be stopped.if there were 4 chimps in a band and they could play a few chords,im sure they would be the biggest band in the world,its just silly.i just read their interview and 1 of the girls says-"it's harder for girl guitar bands to get established simply because they are girls" haha what a load of rubbish that is,its ALOT easier for a bunch of 4 15 yr old good looking girls who have rubbish pop songs to get a deal than 4 25 yr old men who have real music an! d good songs. this is just stupid.Drop the hype. and to say they dont sound like busted.thats a joke they r a dire girl version of busted.ive seen it for myself. all you real bands,who make real songs,and are real ppl,dont let it bother you that this group no where near as good as you are getting all this attention.Its only because they are 4,good looking girls,who are still in school and they need a mcfly rival group. The death of the man James Mansell does highlight the petty nature of music not just at a microcosmic local level but the larger macrocosmic national and international level. It's all relative and it's all just bull-shit. First and foremost, I am an exceedingly bored individual with nothing to do at the moment so I decided to ruffle a few feathers on here for a laugh and see how seriously you guys took it. Some did, some didn't. The Angry Captain wishes to set the record straight however, I have never bitched a band without a reason and also the Angry Captain wishes to pledge support to My:Audio, I have their tune Mastermind Criminal on my computer and I like it, they were just a soft target, sorry guys. This is my last post and if anyone is to take anything from my adventures it is that music is to be firstly enjoyed and then debated not the other way round. I would just like to add my voice to those of you who are disturbed by un-needed, non-constructive, bitching about, and between, seemingly many of our local bands these days. I have been in more local bands than I can remember and I still keep my ear to the ground about 'the local sceane'. For one thing, compared with 20 or 10 years ago the general strength of the sceane is strong. There are more bands, more studios/rehearsal rooms, better home recording/demo technology, more venues, more managers/agents and promoters and more audience etc than ever before. There's always been bitching between bands but now with the advent of modern technology such as the web, the bitching has grown and is getting through to the wider world. All you young bands should realise how good things are and use your energies more constructively. Alfa9 and Agent blue in particular have come in for a lot of bile, undeservedly in my opinion. The Alfa lads are good musicians and decent guys. Agent Blue I aint seen or heard yet but I have it on good authority that they are worth going see, and I will. Also The Tonics are a great bunch of musicians who are fastly finding their own musical identity and expression. And on the more rocky side, Burnt and Camel of Doom and Rise to Thunder are some examples of interesting bands. Cut the bitching and get rocking instead guys and girls and 'the sceane' may prevail yet!

these guys work very hard to do what they do,as i have seen it 4 myself.they will succeed i knows it.amazing band,exciting to watch live and tunes to go with it.i went to the underground gig too and i agree with the guy on about the fashion parade going on in there but i dont think agent blue have anything to do with that as u can see by looking at them they dont all look like these ppl i think the only 1 in the band with a fashion problem is the drummer but on a whole u can see that they dont follow fashion and dont really care about that sort of thing.I think music needs a band like Agent Blue doing something different from all the bands around at the moment who are just trying to be the libs.these days there are pop bands like bloc party,Kiaser Cheifs,futureheads and the killers then you have the bands that try to be the libertines like the paddingtons,the cribs,arctic monkeys,thee unstrung and so on but then you have bands like agent blue who dont co! me into any of these catagories which i think is amazing ppl want to hear something different and thats where these guys come in. cant wait for the album hope its soon,think they need to advertise it well though that must be the problem i think ppl are scared to put u in their magazine or on their radio shows maybe because they are scared that you are different and they might get laughed at if you fail.its like if you have been w***ing with your right hand for 30 yrs your not gonna change to your left ,cos it might not be as good.u stick with what you know best. ooh, you know nothing mate. I listened to 5AS'S soundbites on their website and two of the tracks are identical. They're a band for their mates to see on a friday night. I got the vibe of the killers without decent hooks! Ok it's not my bag and if you get enjoyment from that type of thing all the best to you.Music is a universal language and it appeals and touches people in different ways. Sadly 5AS do not do anything for me.

Into a fantastic live band, with plenty of tunes and talent to match. Very nearly on the verge of possibly, you know, just turning their lives into something, instead of sitting on the computer dreaming up ways to try and knock people down like you. Why don't you put your mouse down, retreat from your stinking pit of a bedroom in the house you still share with mum and dad despite your advancing years, pick up a guitar! a shovel! anything! that will make your piffling little mind do something constructive.

I hesitate to acknowledge your existence with a reply you silly little person but I am driven by the forces of neurophysiology to do so. The prize for the first major put-down of yet another band who look as though they're starting to make waves outside this city goes to you -congratulations! You win nothing. It was inevitable that some other cretin would elect themselves as chief-how-dare-you-get-ideas-that-you-can-make-it-in-the-music-business and it seems you consider yourself well qualified for that position. There are a huge number of very to extremely good bands in this city covering all genres - narrowing your choice down to two bands is proof in itself that you are more than a trifle delusional if you think your taste is even remotely eclectic. Most of those bands/artists are overlooked on the comments on these pages and many of them are capable of achieving/have achieved some level of popularity beyond the parochial mindset that is prevalen! t particularly on this message board. I have shown huge support for many of them from the experimental to the acoustic to hardcore metal to pure indie rock (and everything in between) often putting myself at some inconvenience and financial loss to photograph them and taking quite a considerable portion of my spare time to do so to make sure they have some exposure on my website. It is by no means a chore - most of these bands have something special to offer the listener and ok some of them won't make it beyond local popularity but that's ok too as many of them have a large fanbase within the city. It's all about being passionate about music and getting up there and doing it for real - that's all that really matters. And what is wrong with achieving a place in the mainstream? - there are some amazing bands who have achieved success via the mainstream Press but still have something to offer those with more a experimental taste in music. Some bands do live up to and even exceed the hype. Alfa 9 have grown into something quite special and having watched them impress many a non-local audience including a potentially difficult London audience earlier this week they are proving that they most certainly do have the tunes. Bandwagon jumper? I think you'll find many of the people showing support for this band have been doing so for quite some considerable time and every gig has been a pleasure.

Come on! Here we go again, a band starts generating a bit of recognition and ooh out from the woodworm ridden floorboards crawl the bandwagon jumpers. I've seen Alpha9 and yes they are a nice tight outfit and sure they are pleasing to see live. However there is nothing groundbreaking about them, they are inevitably not going to make anybody stand up in admiration. The tunes fall short for the market they are aiming to hit and if they hadn't suddenly been thrust into the limelight we'd styill be discussing Agent Who. What is wrong with you peolple are you incapable of broadening your horizons, look beyond the mainstream and the pages of the NME for beyond that barrier does lie an exceedingly wonderful wealth of ecclectic brilliance. There are only two bands in this neck of the woods that are of any worth and they are sadly overlooked on these pages. You may stumble across their brilliance at some stage and when you do you will realise who i am refering to! o.

I went along to the Britannia yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed the concert. I am not a great fan of Lulu but I have to admit she was very good and looked excellent. Elton himself was brilliant. He was on stage for over 2 hours, playing non-stop all his oldies and 3 from a new album. The weather was atrocious but that didn't spoil a great atmosphere. Well done Elton John for coming to Stoke!

Blacktop Coalition.... sounds like a building society or one of these dodgy insurance companies. I don't trust'em. Their music is a bit guff aswell, they are a bit bland and well boring. I'm not saying they are sh*t and they make me want to hurt people, sometimes I want to hurt people but that is just the voices, they tell me to hurt, but Blacktop Building Society just don't have very good songs, they are like a pub band, all the thirty something scummy birds that sit at the front with a pint of cider, they also come in leather jackets and girate when drunk, really would like Blacktop Insurance Company but they aren't for me or my newly found record label, " Chaffing Snatch Records".

They dont repeat lyrics over and over yeah they did in 1 song sex drugs and rocks thru your window which if i u think about it has not much less lyrics in it than some classics like song 2 - blur and spanish main - the coral , sister savior and more recently robot rock - daft punk also around the world - daft punk theres loads more too so just think about what your sayin b4 u say it . Agent Blue have not finished they r just starting remember they r only around 20 yrs old . Just come from a tour with the Music and a tour with The Others and a club NME tour and carling sessions gigs they sell out every gig they play in London and they also do the same in Stoke and most other places they play . The word is spreading . Your just obviously gutted cos your in a band bebe and have never travelled outside Stoke . Agent Blue r doing well im sure they wont let ppl like u bring them down.

As you rightly point out, you are "...no expert..." Unfortunately, you've got it completely wrong, to get on in the music business these days, the worst thing you can do is "...something a bit different." Christ just look at the sh*te which has got signed in the wake of Franz Ferdinand's success - Bloc Party, Futureheads, The Departure etc. As for Rift - absolute b****x and My:Audio haven't even done a gig yet and it doesn't matter who you are, if you don't do gigs, YOU WILL GET NOWHERE. And anyway if you're "...no expert..." then why the f*** are you trying to hand out advice you clown!!!!!!!

Anywhere but Stoke Bang on Sie
From what I have heard lately - I would agree with Sie, there are only a handful bands in stoke worth worrying about.. These are in my opinion (in no particular order) Agent Blue, Fifth Action Shelter, Big Cash Prizes, My:Audio, Concussion, Rift and Shiro. From what I can tell they are all doing their best to try and produce a sound which has something a bit different to the "Indie" sound that a lot of the local bands are lost in and which has really and truly had its day.Dont get me wrong i'm no expert, but to get anywhere in music nowadays, I for one think it really needs to be something a bit different otherwise nobody will even bother to give it a listen - apart from your mates, your missus and your mum -who will all tell you its ace when the harsh reality is YOU WILL GET NOWHERE! Have a think about it Stoke, the bar is getting raised further every week... Are you up for it???

i have been to the sugar mill to watch the tommy`s twice now, nothing unusuall about that, apart from i live in the mansfield area. i have read your reviews on the band, and i must say your right. i certainly hope they make it. ive heard alot worse that has made it. allso i would just like to ask if you could send me information on how to get to listen to your wednesday night, chart list play so i can listen to it on the pc, with it being a local station we cannot pict it up on the normal radio. yours thankfully
