| Saturday, 27 April, 2002, 16:18 GMT 17:18 UK Telford 3-3 Woking Woking surrendered a two goal cushion to be hauled back to 3-3 against Telford but a draw was enough to guarantee their Conference survival. The Cardinals went into the game knowing that only defeat for them and a massive goal-haul from Hayes against Boston on Sunday could deprive them of safety. But Geoff Chapple's side made sure nonetheless with a battling display at Keys Park. It took them just 19 minutes to forge ahead when Roscoe D'Sane drilled home. And 11 minutes later that lead was doubled when Charlie Griffin raced forward to score. The writing seemed to be on the wall for the home side but Telford refused to lie down. And after Jim Bentley had given them hope, Mark Albrighton grabbed an equaliser after 61 minutes. Woking seemed to have snatched the points when Warren Haughton headed home with 11 minutes left but within two minutes the hosts had responded as Bentley glanced in at the far post. Telford: Hateley, Wooliscroft, Neil Moore, Bentley, Albrighton, Fitzpatrick, King, Quayle, Smith, Palmer, Paul Moore. Subs: Paul Edwards, Jake Edwards, Davies, Scott. Woking: Tucker, Piper, Reece, Pitman, Reeks, Boardman, Perkins, Moore, Griffin, Dsane, Smith. Subs: Sharpling, Haughton, Saunders, Paul Steele, Baverstock. Referee: L Probert (Bridgewater). |
